Kassandra × Vindolanda

Kassandra needed a first-of-its-kind predictive tool for archaeologists at Vindolanda Roman Fort on Hadrian's Wall, a UNESCO World Heritage Site threatened by climate change.

We combined AI-powered research paper analysis, AI-powered code generation, and Kassandra's existing platform to build a digital twin. It fuses environmental data, climate projections, LiDAR, and excavation records, running thousands of simulations to predict how different climate futures affect buried archaeology.

One of the first predictive AI tools deployed at any UNESCO World Heritage Site globally.

AI-powered research analysis ingested the scientific literature. AI-assisted code generation accelerated development. A novel, complex tool delivered by a small team at a pace that matched the urgency of the climate threat.
